Brazoria County (Angleton, Pearland’s Brazoria side, Alvin, Manvel, Lake Jackson, Freeport, and nearby) holds mortgage trustee sales on the first Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where Brazoria mortgage sales are called

The Brazoria County Clerk states substitute trustee sales occur in the atrium of the Brazoria County Justice Center. Entrance is the Administration Building at 237 E. Locust, Angleton, TX 77515; take the second-floor crosswalk to the Justice Center; the atrium is on the first floor.

Notices may describe that atrium or “the area designated by Commissioners Court.” Trust the notice.

Tax sales are often in a different room

Brazoria County tax foreclosure sales are described as the Commissioners’ Courtroom on the first floor of the Brazoria County Courthouse, first Tuesday from 10 a.m. That is not the same as the bank’s trustee sale. See tax sale vs. mortgage foreclosure.

The calendar

First Tuesday. If that Tuesday is January 1 or July 4, the sale is the first Wednesday. Twenty-one-day notice of sale still applies. How to read a notice of trustee sale.

What to do today

  1. Copy date, time, and place from the notice.
  2. Call the trustee and loss mitigation.
  3. Call a HUD counselor: Who to call. Houston HUD agencies and 1-888-995-HOPE / 1-800-569-4287 serve the metro, including Brazoria.
  4. Lone Star Legal Aid if you have court papers.
