Liberty County Foreclosure Sale

Please read this first. Educational site only. Not a law firm, not a HUD counselor, not a servicer. Confirm the place of sale on your notice.

Updated September 2026. Educational only — not legal advice.

Liberty County (Liberty, Cleveland, Dayton, Hardin, Ames) holds mortgage trustee sales on the first Tuesday.

Where Liberty mortgage sales are called

Commissioners Court has ratified the site as the front steps on the south side of the Liberty County Courthouse, 1923 Sam Houston, Liberty, TX 77575. That order covers both deed-of-trust sales under Property Code §51.002 and tax sales under Tax Code §34.01(r).

The clerk files notices. The clerk does not run the auction and cannot give legal advice.

The calendar

First Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If that Tuesday is January 1 or July 4, the sale is the first Wednesday. Twenty-one-day notice still applies.

What to do today

  1. Copy date, time, and “1923 Sam Houston” (or whatever the notice says).
  2. Call the trustee and loss mitigation.
  3. Call a HUD counselor: Who to call, HOPE 1-888-995-HOPE.

This site does not take cases and does not buy houses. Cleveland straddles Liberty and Montgomery — use the county on the notice.
