Chambers County (Anahuac, Mont Belvieu, Beach City, Winnie, parts of Baytown’s east side) holds mortgage trustee sales on the first Tuesday.
Where Chambers mortgage sales are called
Notices commonly name the eastern-most steps of the second level (middle floor) of the Chambers County Courthouse, 404 Washington Avenue, Anahuac, TX 77514, or the area designated by Commissioners Court under Texas Property Code §51.002.
Tax sales are a different case and may be at the courthouse or moved for weather. Catching up the mortgage does not automatically stop a tax sale. See tax sale vs. mortgage foreclosure.
How to get there
Anahuac is a small county seat on Trinity Bay, not an event center on the Loop. From Houston: I-10 east past Baytown / Mont Belvieu, then south toward Anahuac (FM 563 / TX-61). Washington Avenue is the courthouse square. The sale is on those east steps of the middle floor — look up a level, not at the sidewalk.
Mont Belvieu and the plants along I-10 feel like Houston. The posted sale is still usually in Anahuac unless the notice says otherwise. Gatorfest posters around town are normal; they are not the auction.
The calendar
First Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If that Tuesday is January 1 or July 4, the sale is the first Wednesday. Twenty-one-day notice still applies. Dates: 2026 first Tuesdays (next is November 3).
What to do today
- Copy the date, time window, and street address from the notice.
- Call the substitute trustee and the servicer’s loss-mitigation line.

My house is in Mont Belvieu / Baytown. Do I go to Harris?
Only if the notice says Harris County. East Baytown and Mont Belvieu can be Chambers. The county on the paper is the one that calls the sale.
Why the “second level” steps?
That is how Chambers designated the place. Copy the wording. If the notice names a different area of the same courthouse, use the notice.
