Waller County Foreclosure Sale

Please read this first. Educational site only. Not a law firm, not a HUD counselor, not a servicer. Confirm the place of sale on your notice.

Updated September 2026. Educational only — not legal advice.

Waller County (Hempstead, Brookshire, Prairie View, Waller, parts of the Katy / Hockley edge) uses the same first-Tuesday trustee-sale calendar as the rest of Texas.

Where Waller mortgage sales are called

Notices commonly name the foyer at the south entrance of the Waller County Courthouse, 836 Austin Street, Hempstead, TX 77445, or “the place designated by Commissioners Court.” A new courthouse building opened on that site in 2025; still confirm the description on your notice.

The County Clerk files notices in the office (walk-in). The clerk does not post them for the trustee and does not give legal advice. Clerk page: Waller County Clerk — foreclosure notices.

Tax sales

Sheriff’s tax sales are also typically first Tuesday at the courthouse complex. They are a separate case from the mortgage. See tax sale vs. mortgage foreclosure. Tax office notes: Waller County Tax Office.

The calendar

First Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If that Tuesday is January 1 or July 4, the sale is the first Wednesday. Twenty-one-day notice of sale still applies.
