Colorado County (Columbus, Eagle Lake, Weimar) holds mortgage trustee sales on the first Tuesday. The river is the Texas Colorado — not the state of Colorado, and not Austin’s riverwalk.
Where Colorado County mortgage sales are called
The county’s posted location is the foyer, inside the main entrance, of the Colorado County Annex Building, 318 Spring Street, Columbus, TX 78934. Courtesy notices: Colorado County — foreclosure notices. The clerk does not conduct the sale.
Some older notices still say “courthouse door” or 400 Spring Street (the historic courthouse). Trust the address on your notice. Tax sales are a different case. See tax sale vs. mortgage foreclosure.
How to get there
Columbus is on I-10 west of Houston, about an hour and a half toward San Antonio. Take the Columbus exit and go to Spring Street. 318 is the annex. The pretty 1890s courthouse on the square is next door; do not assume the sale is on those steps unless the paper says so.
Eagle Lake and Weimar are this county. If you drove to Colorado Springs, you overshot by a time zone.
The calendar
First Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If that Tuesday is January 1 or July 4, the sale is the first Wednesday. Dates: 2026 first Tuesdays (next is November 3).
What to do today
- Copy date, time, and “318 Spring Street” (or whatever the notice says).
- Call the trustee and loss mitigation.
- Call a HUD counselor: Who to call, HOPE 1-888-995-HOPE.

Is this related to the City of Austin?
No. Colorado County is Columbus. Austin County (Bellville) is a different county on this site. Travis County is not.
